Kayli at 3 months

Kayli continues to grow and make us so happy! She has the biggest smiles and loves to play with mom and dad. She is definitely starting to show cute personality. We love her!!!

This past month we took two trips to Vegas. The first one was a really quick weekend trip to take family pictures with both sides of our family. The pictures turned out great! Thanks Mandy!

We were also able to go to Las Vegas for a really long President’s Day weekend. I took Kayli to my old school to show her off to my teacher friends and she sure did a good job of showing off her big smiles! It was so much fun to see everyone again! I sure miss all of them! I didn’t plan on showing Kayli to my past students (they’re germy!) quite yet but as we tried sneaking out we were caught by a few of them. Word quickly got around that Mrs. Eliason was back with her baby and so we ended up showing her off to the fourth and fifth graders that I had taught. It was so much fun and as far as I can tell, they haven’t gotten her sick! The kids were so cute and couldn’t believe that Kayli used to be inside of me! Kenny was such a good sport and spoke Spanish to Kayli and all the kids. They always loved when he came to our class.

The best thing about going to Vegas is spending lots of time with both of our families. Kayli is definitely loved and she gets lots of special attention…

She loves Grandpa England!

Already learning how to play the piano with Grandpa Eliason! She looks pretty talented…playing the piano with her feet!

She loves going to sleep in Grandma Eliason’s arms!

Playing with Grandma England, Aunt Kim, and cousin Adam.

Aunt Kim loves playing with the camera even more than Kayli! I love the picture where Adam is playing and Kayli is watching. One day they’ll play together.

Big hug with Aunt Kaci!

Kayli even got to hang out with her great Grandma and Grandpa Taylor!

And she’s starting to wonder WHAT Charlie is…but she’s good with him and Uncle Charlie looks after her like a good uncle!

When we aren’t in Vegas we still try to have lots of fun with little Kayli. We bought a jogging stroller so that we can go running but also take her with us. She loves it! We have already been jogging at the beach and the weather here is always perfect for getting out.

Kenny likes to be silly with Kayli…here’s a few things she’s done this past month… (nice watch Kenny…)

At 3 months Kayli is…

1. Smiling, Smiling, Smiling!

IMG_537 (144)

2. Starting to sit up pretty good…she can even sit in the Bumbo chair for a little bit.

IMG_0374

3. Working her abs! She tries to sit up every time we lay her down!

4. Talking! Or trying to…and I am not sure if she’s speaking Spanish or English yet…maybe a little of both! Heheheh

And…most people say she looks like me…but…take a look at this…

She might just be starting to look like her daddy!

Kayli at 2 Months!

IMG_0249

Well at 2 months Kayli is as cute as ever! Time is passing by quickly and I am trying to savor every single moment that I have with our sweet baby girl. I get to stay home with her every single day and no fail, I love her more and more every day. Here’s what she’s doing these days:

1. She LOVES to smile…but not for a camera. The best part of my day is when I look at her and she is already smiling at me, like she has been watching me just smiling. I can’t help but think that she is happy here. I think she likes her mommy and daddy and we sure like her!

IMG_0222

I know this isn’t the best picture and I promise she smiles ALL time…the biggest smiles ever! Yet, when we stick the phone in front of her to get a picture, she just stares, like she’s wondering why we always shove that thing in her face…so there aren’t too many pictures to prove it.

2. She LOVES story time! Seriously! Kenny will read her a book in Spanish or I will read to her in English but no matter which language, she stares at the pictures the entire time. I’m so glad I have a little reader on my hands…

IMG_0257

3. She’s SMART! I think she loves bath time and she knows how to get me to put her in her tub…if she causes a big enough, messy enough accident…then mommy has no choice but to put her in the tub…so every few days she does just that! OK maybe she doesn’t plan that but she LOVES the bath tub and it’s very convenient for her when she does have an accident, There aren’t any pictures of bath time though…too bad because she’s the cutest little thing all wrapped up in her towel! Maybe next month…

4. She’s starting to realize that toys are toys! She doesn’t really play yet, or hold on for long enough, but she stares and wonders and soon enough I am sure she will love the toys.

5. She loves her fists. She loves looking at them and she loves trying to eat them!

We went to the doctor yesterday for her 2 month checkup. Doctor says she is healthy and that she’s an active little one…always kicking her legs and swinging her arms…

Beach Day!

Since Kenny was off from school on MLK day, we decided to take Kayli to the beach for the first time. It was of course, a beautiful 75 degrees here in San Diego and so we headed to the beach in January! She seemed to love it! I think we might have a real Cali girl…she might not ever want to move back to Las Vegas!

I’m sure there will be plenty more beach days to come!

Christmas Break!

We were so lucky that we got to go home to Las Vegas for three weeks over Christmas Break! It was Kayli’s first road trip and vacation. We split up staying at the Grandma’s houses so Kayli got to be held, cuddled, sang to, and loved the entire vacation by family. She was very popular and always being held by someone. We had so much help and Kenny and I even got to go out on a date!

While we were there Kayli got to meet Ryan Griffith, Kenny’s best friend, Ross’s, son. Get that? Ryan is one week older than Kayli.

DSC_3586

We spent Christmas Eve at the England house. Kayli stayed awake to take pictures in her cute little Christmas outfit, that was three sizes too big for her…but she still rocked the outfit!

Kayli’s first Christmas…

DSC_3607

Once our pictures were taken, Kayli was out! Daddy had to open all of her presents for her…

DSC_3631

Grandma and Grandpa England sure spoiled us. We loved our presents!

DSC_3635

When Kayli did wake up and realized that she had gotten so many new, exciting toys, she yelled, “Yay!”

DSC_3651

So the funniest part of the night was when we tried to get Kayli and her cousin, Adam, to take a picture together in their cute Christmas outfits….here’s what happened…

DSC_3654

Kayli was NOT havin’ it…and Adam was wondering why she was crying so dang much…

DSC_3655

and it continued because the moms just wanted a picture!

DSC_3659

and eventually EVERYONE was crying…

We stayed at the Eliason’s house Christmas Eve and spent Christmas with them. Christmas morning was so much fun and the Eliasons spoiled us too!

We got a Bosch!

DSC_3704

I got a sewing machine! (that I need to learn how to use so I can make cute little girly things…)

DSC_3708

I did get a first sewing lesson, though, by Kari and Kaci…I even made a rice bag! Whoohoo!

DSC_3858

Another thing we did over break was take Kayli to FlipNout! Too bad she slept through the entire thing…I’m sure we will hang out there plenty more throughout her lifetime so there will be plenty more times to be awake…

DSC_3765

I even got to see my best friends! Both Casey and Alise had baby showers while we were all home for Christmas. I love these girls!

DSC_3839

We blessed Kayli in Las Vegas so that all of our family could be there. Kenny got to bless her. Kayli wore the dress that I was blessed in, so that was kind of special. We had lots of family there for the blessing. Kayli looked beautiful!

New adventures!

Well we’ve sure experienced some big changes in the last few months. In August, we moved to San Diego so that Kenny could start law school. This move meant that I would quit teaching and Kenny would leave his job at the law firm. Both of us hated leaving our jobs. The hardest thing about leaving, though, was saying goodbye to family. We sure were spoiled living so close to both sides of our families and seeing them so often. Who would have thought missing out on Sunday dinners would be so sad! One thing this move has taught us though is how to cook a Sunday roast! We’ve been so lucky to live pretty close to Vegas, and we have seen family a ton since we left.

Our greatest new experience is being parents! Kayli Ryan Eliason was born on November 24, 2010. She is such a joy to us and we love her so much! We think she’s pretty cute and she already has a fun personality. Kenny is so great with her and I can tell that Kayli loves her daddy. His favorite thing to do with her is read her Juevos Verde Con Jamón… can you tell what that is? Green Eggs and Ham in Spanish! He practically has the book memorized! Kenny speaks to Kayli in only Spanish and I obviously speak to her in only English. Hopefully (if all the research is correct) she will grow up to be bilingual! Well Kayli is 8 weeks old today and she’s happy, healthy, and beautiful. We couldn’t be more blessed and thankful to have her.

Well my plan is to blog at least once a month to keep everyone updated on us (ok I know you really only care to see pictures of Kayli, not Kenny and me, and promise to post some good ones!) and mostly so I can make the special book! Hopefully I can keep up!

I’m Bloggin’!

When Kenny and I got married, everyone said the thing to do was to start a blog. I always thought I was too busy and would never keep up on it. Then I found out that I could actually print off my blog and have a nice little keepsake book and figured I better get started! Enjoy keeping up with our little family!
