Beau played on a summer football team that was SO hot but but it’s always fun to watch him play sports.

Kayli started student council at the high school over the summer. She loves it! She had a lot to do that last week of summer! We love these pictures of Kayli and Parker at school together again and doing stu co together. I’ve included some throwbacks from when they were little…

Got to see Joe, Dawn and Elizabeth for a few minutes!

Beau turned 13 the day before school started so we spent the weekend celebrating! He had an MRI on Friday to see what was going on in his knee and then in keeping with tradition we played street hockey with his buddies. We also had pizza and treats and played volleyball and indoor soccer. Saturday we had a pool party and went to Outback. Sunday was a little more boring for him but he was a good sport!

First day of school pics… Kayli: 9th (high school), Beau: 8th, Trey: 5th, Sami: 3rd. Kayli starts school at 7:00 am. She found some of her good friends to walk in to school with that first day. She has seminary Monday through Thursday starting at 5:45 am! It’s been hard getting up! She likes most of her classes too. Beau doesn’t have to be to school until 8:30 am and he’s had fun hanging out with Owen at our house in the mornings before heading off to school. His teachers seem really good! Trey and Sami are excited to have their cousins at the school this year. Trey and Liv aren’t in the same class but have mutual friends and play at recess. Jake and Sami aren’t even in the same grade but Jake was sure to find Sami that first day to play with her at recess! The fifth graders rotate classes and the teachers are all awesome so Trey is having such a good year so far! He also has lots of friends in his class and I’m just so grateful because last year was probably his least favorite year so far. Sami has friends in her class too!

Sami started piano lessons with Kathy! Kathy is such a good piano teacher and we are so grateful for her! Sami has been the best practicer so far!

Sami’s 8th birthday party…

Took the girls to see Freakier Friday and the moms are the ones who loved it the most even though the girls did love it!

Sami’s 8th Birthday was super fun even with school! She wanted to sleep in for her birthday and then we did a few fun things before going to school.

Kayli is loving doing Arbor View Student Council and she is even the Freshmen Class President! She is a natural leader and she is making so many friends through student council! It’s been fun to watch her learn how to be a good leader. She is super busy now but with so many good things. It’s crazy dropping her off for school football games, student council events, homecoming prep, and volleyball. She’s too old!

Kayli made the Arbor View freshmen volleyball team which she worked really hard for! She is the libero and it’s been fun to be in the high school volleyball scene again! Although, we are really looking forward to club starting back up in November!

We saw Wizard of Oz at the Sphere!

Sami is on the elementary school volleyball team which has been fun for her. Lindsay is helping to coach so that is nice and she has Liv and other girls she knew on the team. All of the girls have been so sweet to her- she is the tiniest one out there but she warms up, sits the bench, cheers, and plays all with a smile on her face! She’s just so excited to be a part of the team! And she looks adorable.

Trey wasn’t sure whether or not he wanted to try out for the school football team for a lot of reasons. We went back and forth but eventually decided we wouldn’t do football with the school. Coach Ivory, who we didn’t think was coaching, asked me where he was during tryouts and if he wanted to come. We decided no again but then a couple weeks in, the head coach called me to see if Trey would want to play- they were wondering where he was and needed him! We decided to do it and I’m so glad we did. The head coach is so nice, Coach Ivory has been to every practice and game helping, Trey has friends on the team and he is playing a lot. They are undefeated 4 games in! He is having fun and I am loving watching him make great plays on defense! He’s also had some interceptions and a game-winning touchdown! I tried to get a picture of Coach Ivory when he saw Trey come to practice for the time- he was the sweetest, so excited to see Trey!

Sami was baptized on September 6 and it was such a good day! Kayli spoke and the boys were the witnesses. Sami, Audra and Azariah sang I See Jesus and it was the sweetest song. It had been a really busy week and so after the baptism we had the best afternoon relaxing and watching BYU football that night!

Trey was asked to conduct at the Stake Primary Devotional and it was the cutest thing ever. He was so confident and calm and did a great job. He was busy with lots of introductions of speakers and musical numbers. “Good evening and welcome to the Skye Canyon Stake Primary Devotional. My name is Trey Eliason from the Eagle Canyon Ward and I was asked to conduct this meeting under the direction of the Stake Primary Presidency…” I loved it so much!

After Beau’s MRI right before his birthday, we found out that he needed to have knee surgery ASAP. His knee pain for the past two years was most likely not as much from the bone spur but more from some dead bone! The doctor said that needed to be fixed before it fell off. He would need to go in and screw the dead bone back in place, drill holes in the bone to stimulate blood flow and healing and he would also take the bone spur off. This would require Beau to be on crutches and a full leg brace for 6 weeks, physical therapy after 6 weeks and no sports or activities for 3-4 months. He had just started a new hockey season, just made the school Varsity football team and was about to try out for club volleyball so this wasn’t the news we wanted but we were also anxious to get it done and get him healing. He had surgery on September 11. He was out of it that night but by the next day was feeling good and has done so well with crutches or hopping around the house. He had lots of visitors, treats, and people checking in on him. I have to take him to school and pick him up and he has buddies in each class that help him leave early to get to his next class before the rush of kids, they carry his backpack and open the doors for him. He has been in good spirits too! He got to play in one football game where Coach Hubbard said the ball was going to Beau lots and he was playing the whole game since he’d be out the whole season. He was so sad to hear that he wouldn’t have Beau out there playing! Beau has been to the games on crutches cheering on his team! He played in one hockey game before surgery and will go to as many of those games as he can to cheer on that team as well. Impact Volleyball Club, who Kayli plays for and they know us well, took Beau for their 14U team along with Owen and Bennett so that will be fun. They knew about his surgery and that he would be out the first month and a half. He plans on going to those practices and watching but learning all that he can to be ready to jump in when the doctor clears him (hopefully in December!)

Beau Football pics…

During Beau’s surgery there was a Fall Sports Pep Rally at the school. Sami and Trey were a part of it with their teams and when they introduced Beau’s team Coach Hubbard called Beau’s name and said that he wasn’t there because he was having knee surgery right then but that he was still a part of the team. One of the teachers told me that the school all cheered for him.

Kelly Jacks was released as Kayli’s Young Women’s President after being with her for the past like 5 years (she was her activity day leader before getting called to be in young womens right before Kayli went in). They definitely had some fun times over the years and she is one of Kayli’s biggest fans so we will always be grateful for her and love that Kayli got so much time with her as a leader.

Three of the kids were involved with musical numbers for Stake Conference and I loved the songs so much! Trey was asked to sing with the whole stake choir. Trey and Rosie sang the first verse of I Will Walk With Jesus and then the choir came in behind them later on in the song. There was a violin and cello part and it was a different arrangement than the original. It was so beautiful but the kids did have some tricky parts! They practiced lots and it turned out to be such a beautiful song! Kayli sang a super pretty arrangement of Peace in Christ with the youth choir. Sami and Trey sang A Child’s Prayer with the primary choir. I wish we could have heard all of the songs again!

Sami and Kenny went to the Stake Daddy Daughter Activity at Camp Stimson and had a blast…

Kenny, Beau, Mike and Bennett went to their first Knight’s game of the season!

Trey also started on a volleyball team and he was so cute out there! He was just so excited to be playing and every time he overhand served he got an ace. They are a fun team to watch!

Beau went and cheered on his hockey team…

Scott and Emily made cotton candy while we were at Grandma’s house and it was a (sticky) hit!

Trey entered the yearbook cover contest. We don’t know yet if his was chosen as the winner or not but I loved his!

We love our puzzles!
