October

I got to chaperone Sami’s Field Trip to the Smith Center.

Kayli worked so hard on the homecoming float with her other Freshmen Student Council members and she was pretty exhausted by time the parade came but she had a blast riding on the float as a bird haha! And all of a sudden we noticed that Trey was on the Junior’s float! Mike drove the jeep that was pulling their float and Elise and Trey went with him- so Trey thought that was awesome haha.

She went to Homecoming with a big group of Freshmen. Some moms organized a whole day for them and Kayli joined in for pictures, dinner, the dance, and the afterparty (pancakes, Pickleball and hanging out!)

Beau was on crutches and in the knee brace most of the month but he was such a trooper! He worked on lots of puzzles, played NHL 26, had wheelchair races, played football in the wheelchair, and went to all of his siblings’ games and cheered on his school football team and his hockey team. He even started going to his Impact volleyball practices just to watch and learn. He had lots of friends at school helping him get to each class, carrying his backpack and helping him. It wasn’t easy! We had to fight the school about letting him be outside for PE and lunch and to not completely deprive him of all the things he loves (sports- even if it’s just watching his friends play!) We felt really rebellious ditching out a few days during PE and recess to go get a soda instead of sit in the dean’s office. We did, eventually, win the fight and Beau was allowed to hang with the PE teacher and be outside and watch kids play sports, and he even reffed a few times.

50th day of school…

I successfully made cinnamon rolls for Conference Sunday! We gobbled them up and enjoyed Conference weekend.

Homework club on our driveway most days now…

We planned a really beautiful Relief Society activity up at Camp Stimpson (well it was mostly Kim!) It turned out so perfect.

Our traditional Pumpkin Patch outing with the Cahills…

Sami had lots of volleyball practices and games…

Kayli went to Disneyland with Student Council!

The school Fall Festival is always a hit!

Kenny went to San Diego and Chicago all in a couple days for conferences…

Grandma Varney started having some major health problems so Emily and I left early Sunday morning and drove up to see her and really to say goodbye, along with other family. Although it was for a sad reason, it was so great to be up there with family and we had a really special time with Grandma. I’m so glad we were able to make it up to see her because she passed away on October 30. We will miss her but we are so excited for her to be with Grandpa and other family members and she’s no longer in pain. We were in Orem for about 24 hours and then headed home.

We stopped in St. George to see Dawn and her kids.

Trey had lots of volleyball games and school football games…

Kayli’s final Arbor View game was a fun one and she had lots of visitors.

Carving pumpkins…

Celebrating dad…

Ward trunk-or-treat…

School costume parade…

At the end of the month, Beau was given the ok to ditch the brace and crutches and begin physical therapy. It was a lot of hard work and lots of missing school but Beau was determined to do everything he could to get back to sports asap. He wouldn’t be cleared for sports for about 6 more weeks but even getting to do therapy was a step in the right direction! He did go cheer on his hockey team in their tournament.

Halloween! Kayli loves making these banners and it was perfect for pictures!

A few more…
